Follow-Up Activity – Hungary
On 21 June 2025, our Hungarian partner, Ötletfa Tanoda, organised a Family Day in Hódmezővásárhely as a follow-up to the youth exchange in Cyprus. The event brought together local Roma youth and their families, creating a warm and inspiring environment to share what participants had learned about health, well-being, and community care.
The day included healthy cooking, planting workshops with herbs and vegetables, and a vibrant social circus performance, engaging both children and parents. With 72 participants, the activity fostered intergenerational learning, teamwork, and joy.
Alongside the event, Hungarian participants reflected on their experiences abroad, highlighting how the exchange influenced their personal growth, leadership skills, and lifestyle choices. Their heartfelt testimonials showcase the transformative power of Erasmus+ in promoting inclusion, cultural exchange, and empowerment.

On the 21.06. we organized a Family Day at Hódmezővásárhely with our local Roma youth for their families to present what we have learned about health in Cyprus. Jázmin and other big girls from our group cooked and baked during the morning. Thanks to the at 12:00 we could eat a fantastic pork stew with traditional Roma bread, called "bodag" or "bokoli".

During the morning our youngsters, Tibike, Daniella, Józsika, Adri and Lili presented different kinds of plants for the families and they helped them to plant them in pots. We had two types of plant: herbs and veggies. The families could bring them home so they could grow herbs like mint, lemongrass, basil, rosemary, curcuma and oregano and veggies like tomato and paprika. Our youngsters explained how important is to eat well and not just well, but in varied forms, and also explained how take a good care about the plants which increases their happiness also.
After lunch we had a huge social circus performance with Míra and not just the kids, but also their parents played a lot with the tools. Social circus is a fantastic tool not just for sport but make social connections also, because it contains lots of fun, laugh, creativity, music and teamwork.
All together we had 72 participants and everybody went home happy, satisfied, full with good food - and of course very tired.

Participants' Evaluation Paragraphs
Boglárka Dombi: Our group was waiting for this opportunity so much, the topic itself was very interesting for them. I really enjoyed that the tasks were well balanced, so as a group leader I could really focus on our youngsters' well-being. Each evening we had an evaluation in national groups and our youngsters could articulate different kind of small or big improvements what the reached on that day. It was a milestone in our life.
Míra Lajos: I am very happy about the outcomes of the exchange. It was relaxing, enjoyable and we experienced various activities from cultural events through hiking, sport to calories counting and rasing awareness about how mental problems can cause physical problems. I brought some juggling tools, so I could teach youngsters juggling, and I also had the opportunity to make a fire juggling performance.
Tibor Bánfi: That was my second youth exchange and my second time in Cyprus. I really liked our hosts, the hotel and the whole environment. The topic mental health was really good for me, it was a really great experience to "see myself from inside", I have learnt a lot about myself, and I feel I can handle my feelings much better because I understand them and I am more aware of them.
József Kóczé: PEHELI4ALL was my second youth exchange with Acpelia. I really enjoyed the food and the environment. This youth exchange was a journey around my soul, I reached the deepest point and the highest flow. I have learned that if I am surrounded with good people, my friends, everything is much easier. I also feel that my English is getting much better. I am grateful for this opportunity.
Daniella Dudás: The youth exchange was one of the best experiences in my life. I really enjoyed the activities, especially the "peace sculpture" which we made in small groups. I have learnt a lot about myself, I became more open minded, I made friendships and I could also tried my presentation and performance skills, where I improved a lot and I can use them at the high school also.
Jázmin Vörös: The whole youth exchange was very smooth and relaxing for me. I enjoyed the activities and the multicultural, multilingual environment. That was my first youth exchange, moreover the first trip abroad and I am very grateful for this opportunity. Cyprus is a beautiful island, I loved the see, the food, the people and the atmosphere. My favourite activity was the pebble painting, it gave me a lot, I also did one pebble to my mother. Although I got sick during the exchange I felt safe, the hosts and also the workers of the hotel took great care of me.
Adrienn Czebe: Thanks to the youth exchange I have learned that "giving fuel to my body" is just as important as mental health. I was focusing on good sleep, good food and exercise also. I really enjoyed the water fitness as well as the hiking. I realized how refreshing it is to move my body, since the exchange I use a bike to go to the university and to work too.
Lili Kiss: I am a big fan of Erasmus+ programs, but that was my first youth exchange with teenagers and I am very happy about it. During the exchange I got different kinds of responsibilities and tasks as a senior from the Hungarian groupleaders so I could improve my leadership skills too. My favourite activity was the pebble painting, because during the whole activity I was thinking about my little brother how much I love him. I really enjoyed hiking.
