We were talking about peace in Hungarian society which is about smaller or bigger communities and talked about the individual level, inner peace as well. For some, peace means that people can live together in harmony and they don't hurt each other. Conflicts can happen, but with proper communication everything has a solution. There are no unnecessary arguments. We agreed that in Hungary - if we think about the whole society - we have some kind of peace but there are serious issues that have a negative effect on peace. There is no war in our country, that one, we appreciate. But there is a serious incitement of hatred and fear-mogering caused by the government. There is always a chosen group/individual/something whom we should hate or fear, e.g. immigrants, Roma people, teachers, people with disabilities, Brussels, LGBTQIA+ people, substance users (but not alcoholics), women (especially if they haven't given birth) and the list goes on. It has a bad effect on society, destroying trust, cooperation and human relations. We all have experienced discrimination for different reasons like being roma, being a woman, having different style or having different opinions. These experiences impact our well-being by causing anxiety, destroying self-confidence, and planting the fear inside us. If there would be peace and if we shouldn't worry about discrimination, it would be much easier to just be ourselves. Peace also means that you find something (activity, job, task, hobby etc.) and you can immerse yourself in that. Or peace can mean that you are in a beautiful environment, it is quiet and you can just be. Be yourself. That way you can find peace.

All in all peace is a harmonic state without violence and fear.
For conflict resolution techniques - if we can manage alone - we use communication, keep our cool. If we cannot manage alone there is mediation. We can ask for help and an outsider can lead us through the process.
There are some NGOs in Hungary with peacebuilding initiatives. The Hungarian Civil Liberties Union, and Amnesty International Hungary are human rights NGOs. They work for everybody being informed about their fundamental human rights and empowered to enforce it against the undue interference by those in positions of public power. Power of Humanity Foundation's aim is to strengthen social inclusion by supporting oppressed and discriminated groups and sensitising the majority society.
We talk about the relations between mental and physical health, how they affect each other. We agreed that if your mental health is unstable your physical health will also decline. Or if you have physical problems it is hard to keep your mental health on the surface. Some of us thought if you are mentally at a low-point, it is good to do some exercise and it will help you feel better. Some of us thought that if you are mentally down, it is impossible to do any kind of physical activity.

All in all peace is a harmonic state without violence and fear.
In Hungary the mental health of the society is not so good. People are stressed (because of inflation, public mood, state of healthcare, education system and social network) and it affects their physical health. We have issues with alcohol consumption, smoking and related diseases, mental challenges like depression, anxiety.
We talked about what we can do in case of mental health challenges: journaling, talking with friends/family/psychological consultants, thinking about and being prepared for the day, rituals, screaming, listening to music, taking a deep breath, being silent, being alone.
